The Passi City College ROTC Unit successfully conducted the Familiarization Firing Activity for the 2nd Battalion's 84 Basic ROTC Cadets and Cadettes on May 17, 2026. The event took place at the 301st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army, located at Camp General Adriano Hernandez in Brgy. San Matias, Dingle, Iloilo. This activity is a key component of the ROTC curriculum, providing cadets with hands-on experience and safety training regarding firearm handling under professional supervision.
The activity was carried out under the leadership of Commandant COL ROLLY B FIGUEROA PA (RET), Assistant Commandant MAJ NELVERT P MISSION (QMS) PA, Admin NCO/Chief Clerk Sgt Klyvent Jan S Gratuito (Inf) PA, and College Administrator/President LTC JANICE JENNIFFER P PALMARES DPA PA (RES).
The 6th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, under the leadership of COL EDRALIN L POBLETE ART (GSC) PA, Group Commander, closely supervised the activity to ensure its safe, orderly, and successful implementation.
During the activity, Team Leader TSg Eleazer B Lumampao 805224 (MI) PA, together with TSg Arnel B Tabilona (Inf) PA, Cpl Robert Gen P Jardeliza (Inf) PA, Sgt Rodolfo C Andallos Jr (OS) PA, and Sgt Daissy Jane T Pares (MS) PA, provided the cadets and cadettes with comprehensive instruction on firearm familiarization, proper handling procedures, and the fundamental principles of gun safety.
The Familiarization Firing Activity aimed to enhance the cadetsβ knowledge and practical skills in firearm handling, safety, and marksmanship while instilling discipline, responsibility, confidence, and military preparedness among the cadets and cadettes.
This activity reflects the continued commitment of the PCC ROTC Unit to developing disciplined, competent, and service-oriented future reservists dedicated to patriotism, leadership, and national service.
